Laura Mitchell, Superintendent Cincinnati Public Schools

With an opportunity to elevate her vision of what Urban Education can and should be, the Superintendent of the 3rd largest school district in Ohio was approached to deliver a Ted Talk to a live audience, with only two and half weeks to prepare.

Crafting Your Narrative

Stepping on stage meant stepping out of a comfort zone; in this case, this was something the Superintendent had never done before. RRight Now Communications helped shape the narrative of the TEDx-Cincinnati Talk, elevating the client’s authentic voice and vision, while providing intensive public speaking coaching and a day of support. Regina Carswell Russo assisted with every soundcheck and rehearsal to ensure her client was confident, focused, and at ease.

The outcome: A flawless speech that resulted in multiple speaking invitations and became the foundational language driving the District’s Strategic Plan.

Raising Children to be Influencers, not Contributors

“As adults, we need to lift them up and recognize that they [young people] have the power to be architects of their own lives by seeing them and by hearing them … It’s time for us to move away from an obedience contribution model … and move forward into influence.“
